Thankful Tuesday

I missed Thursday's post last week because I was enjoying my time with Annalee, her cute kids & Liz. What could I have posted, they were leaving the next day and that is not something to be thankful for! I was going to take my kids to California for spring break, but at the last minute decided not to go because I didn't really feel like we could afford to go right now and I'd like to go this summer when we can spend longer there. Can I just pat myself on the back for listening to the spirit on this one! Last week we found out that we OWE money this year for taxes. I could not figure out how that could have happened, we have never owed money! Because Merrill was not working last month I told him that he needed to do the taxes...BIG...HUGE MISTAKE! We have his sweet aunt Jo do our taxes so all he needed to do was give her the numbers. Merrill needed to fill out all of this paperwork for his new job including the tax papers so because we owed money I decided to call aunt Jo and ask her how many deductions to take for this year. In the process of talking to her I realized why we owed money, quickly went through some numbers Merrill had not taken the time to go through and now we are getting a refund!!! Needless to say, I'm very thankful today! I'm thankful for Merrill's new job, thankful I didn't go to California (even though I REALLY wanted to), and thankful that we're getting a refund!
