Happy Birthday Riley Roo

May and June seem to be running together for me (I just need an excuse for this being so late!). On June 1st my cute little Riley Roo turned 8 years old. He is so excited to be getting Baptized in July. For his birthday he (well I should say they) got a trampoline and a few other fun things including this apron from Williams Sonoma that I couldn't pass up. In case you can't see what it says "Riley's Farm Fresh Creamery" and naturally a BYU Cosmo singing cougar. Riley is the sweetest little boy I have ever known. He has the most tender feelings for every living creature. Including the mouse he found in our backyard last summer. He ran into the kitchen to tell me ever so proudly that he had just saved a mouse from a cat in our backyard. I told him rather sternly that mice carry diseases and he should not have done that. He looked at me with tears in his big blue eyes and said, "Mom this one didn't have any diseases...it was just a baby." I'm not sure where he put it (probably in his room for all I know) but we still have to just laugh. I don't have a picture of him with his cake because we had a cake disaster...TWICE! I had made the cutest football cake and he wanted to decorate it and while I was gone he was adding a little more to it and it fell apart onto the floor. He called me sobbing and I told him I'd make another one for him and I did, but I didn't really have enough time for it to cool and that one also fell apart. So I'm embarrassed to say I don't have any pictures of Riley on his birthday. What kind of mother am I??? I guess I'll have to make up for it on his Baptism day.
