My New Look

So Here it is, my new haircut. You might think a haircut would only affect me...oh no, my family HATES it. Riley spent all night crying and telling Richard that he wasn't going to call me mom anymore, he wanted to know why I didn't ask him before I cut it. Richard says I look like a boy. Lindsay just plain doesn't like it. Merrill says he is showing support but the fake smile and pat on the back he gave me when he gave me a "support" hug said "I hate it but I'm not going to say I hate it". I am still getting used to it, but I will say it is much faster to blow dry. The downside...I do have to blow dry. So tell me what you think, and don't spare my feelings. My family sure didn't! I guess they were more attached to my hair than I was. Who knew a haircut for Mommy would be so traumatic?

I think it looks great! Your family will get over it. I don't think my family minds when I cut my hair, but then again, my family mostly has girls, so Eli is outnumbered.

I LOVE IT--very cute! I think it is hilarious that your kids had opinions about it!

Well, I like it a lot! If you decide to grow it out again, your family will appreciate your "old" hair even more. I think it looks really updated and cute!

Hi. I know you don't know me but I happened upon your blog and just had to leave a comment. First, I think your haircut is adorable, although it's the only picture I've ever seen so I don't really have anything to compare it to. Second, I love all the songs in your playlist, they are all my favorites too. Third, I love pink as well, it is my favorite color and I buy way too much pink stuff. (I think this is mostly because I have four boys so it's the only way I get pink). And fourth, after reading your "Finally I know what's wrong with me" I know what's wrong with me too because that is EXACTLY how every one of my days go. Thanks for sharing!

I think it is cute! Definitely different after years of long, but you wear it well. You are so pretty you could shave and get away with it, but it would be even more distressing to your kids. When the kids were little I colored my hair auburn, they had a cow! They didn't recognize me when I picked them up from school the first day. I loved it for a change and Randy was great. Then over spring break we were in Utah skiing and he looks at me and says "so next year I plan to ski with a blond. What are you doing?" Okay, okay, so back to blond I went (I actually think I look better as a blond anyway...). Someone asked why I switched back to blond, I though the answer was obvious, so I looked at her with a straight face and said "So much pressure when you have dark hair, people actually think you know stuff. I just couldn't take it anymore." She was stunned and just walked away. I laughed for weeks over it (still do when I think about it)!
